As part of the preparations for the upcoming celebrations at El Cedral, the town’s Chapel was recently renovated, and even received  a new roof.  The Chapel is of special historic significance since it’s been widely reported that it was the site for the first catholic mass in all of Mexico.  In addition to the Chapel, the entire town of El Cedral has been undergoing maintenance and grounds keeping in preparation for the Fiesta de la Santa Cruz de Sabán and the  Feria de El Cedral, which will take place from April 28 to May 5.   These celebrations have  both cultural and religious traditions dating from 1849, and take place at the end of April and the first three days of May each year
