Cozumel’s Municipal Department of Ecology organized a 5K run to promote sea turtle conservation.  The event,  which took  place on July 13, had participants divided into three categories, all named after turtles that nest on the island:   “Carey” (13-17 years) “Green” (18-35 years) and  “Loggerhead” (36 and over).  Participants ran, walked or jogged a circuit along Cozumel’s downtown waterfront.
