Starting this past Monday, summer vacation officially came to an end.  Many island schools commenced classes again, and both passenger transport ferry companies reduced their daily routes back to a normal schedule. Officials in charge of pier operations reported that even with the increased schedules, ferry boats were arriving 80% full, and that the early evening ferries, 5 – 8 pm,   were the most popular routes.

During summer break, from July 7th to August 18th, 14 ferry routes a day ran, 2 more than regular services.  Cozumel is serviced by two ferry companies, Mexico Water jets, and Ultramar, both of whom have schedules on-line.
