A huge thank you to two firefighters from Diamond Springs California, who arrived on island earlier this week, with a gift of gently used equipment for Cozumel’s own Bomberos.  Retired firefighter Erik Peterson and forest firefighter Robert Carter, presented the Bomberos de Cozumel with 6 jackets and pants, gloves, and even a face mask; an impressive amount of equipment considering today’s baggage restrictions.   The California firefighters were given a tour of the fire station, including the iconic “El Piolín Cozumeleño,” the 1961 America La France Firetruck, t-shirts, calendars, and a hearty thanks from the Commander and the Director of Civil Protection.
