For the past 3 years, the Cozumel municipality has been nice enough to help our Ex-Pat community plan celebrations for the US Independence Day. In fact, this year, we’ve already had our first meeting. Plans are big this year, especially since the holiday falls on a Friday. This is going to be one of the events where the new administration will be looking to see the response of the Ex-pats, and it’s a great chance to have your voice heard! In the initial works are a chili/ BBQ cook off, live bands, including the youth orchestra, local charities promoting their causes, local artists displaying their works, AND – if we can raise some funds – fireworks!!
The fireworks are going to be a little pricey, but with a fundraiser, and maybe some generous donors, we can pull it off! If you’re interested in helping out with the organization, have a charity that will need a space, or want to help organize bands and artists please contact me, Laura Wilkinson at Cozumel 4 You laura@czm4you.com. If you’re interested in helping organize the restaurant booths please contact Lisa Ramirez, lisa@rocknjavacozumel.com Thanks again everyone for all of your support these past 3 years.
