Cozumel to Host 6th Annual Bird Festival November 7 – 9
Cozumel island will host their 6th Festival of Birds from November 7 – 9. This event, which will be the biggest festival to date seeks to promote birding as a strategy for sustainable tourism on the island, and at the same time sensitizing the island community on the value birds in the island’s ecosystem.
The Festival will open on Friday, November 7th at the Museo de la Isla and feature a photography exhibition and opening ceremonies with Barbara MacKinnon, a world-famous bird watcher, delivering the key note speech. On Saturday there will be 2 opportunities to join a bird watching tour as well as activities at the Municipal Department of Ecology, located in the Centoe Park on Av. 65. On Sunday there will be a final birding tour as well as a closing breakfast at the Cozumel Country Club.
Inscriptions for the entire event are only $250 pesos without transportation and $450 with transport included. There’s also discounted rates for hotels for festival participants.
