Cozumel Fishermen Rescued For the Third Time By Naval Corps

Mexican Navy corps were called in to rescue three young fishermen who were lost at sea for the third time.  Naval forces discovered the trio just off the northern tip of the island, near the Punta Molas lighthouse.  Apparently, they had become separated from their boat, “Genesis,”  but managed to swim safely to shore.  The captain of the boat searched for the lobster divers for nearly 13 hours before returning to port and reporting them missing.

Naval officials, employing a defender-type rescue boat, discovered the wayward divers on shore.  Upon return to port, they were taken to a military facility where they were evaluated and found to be in good health. The three fishermen, one of whom is only 17 years old, reported that this was the third time they had been lost at sea, but had been rescued each time.
