Cozumel beaches have been full of residents and island visitors taking advantage of the summer weather.  As a result, municipal lifeguards have successfully carried out more than 10 rescues during the first two weeks of summer vacation. In fact, out of the 11 rescues accomplished only one was serious enough to warrant further medical attention.  Of those rescued, 45% were island residents with the rest being either national or international visitors. So far, the lifeguards busiest day was Sunday July 21st, when they assisted in 4 separate rescues.
