Cozumel Taxes Discounted

“Early Bird”Discounts for Annual Payments of Predial Property Taxes Start in November

Cozumel land owners who choose to pay their 2015 Predial, or property taxes in November will receive a 25% discount. The Municipality is once again starting their annual program which rewards island residents “early bird” discounts on a sliding scale. Although the amount of the discounts still has to be approved by the city council, it’s expected that the first payment level, which will start on November 15th, will be a 25% discount, as it has been in years past. Traditionally, the discount has gone down 5% each month through January, when the program ends and the 2015 taxes are due. The discount is also applicable to a yearly trash collection tax as well.

Cozumel Taxes Can be Paid in Multiple Locations

Cozumel’s Municipal Treasurer has also announced that this year the Treasury office will have a mobile unit that will travel to different areas of the island, to facilitate easy payments for residents.
