Time Change in Cozumel This Sunday – One Hour Back
While the United States observes daylight savings time by falling back the first Sunday in November, in this case, November 2nd, our area of Mexico will change the clocks this Sunday, October 26th at 2 am.
Please keep in mind that during the interim week, Central Standard Time in our area will be different than that of the US.
Some Mexico municipalities which share a border with the United States will began daylight saving time with the US. This change in daylight saving time observance was requested by local governments and political leaders to help facilitate commerce with the United States during the period when the two countries will be on different times. The State of Sonora does not observe daylight savings time at all.
Here in Cozumel this change is especially important for visitors arriving by cruise ship, since “island time” and “ship time” may or may not coincide. When in doubt, it’s best to confirm ship time, prior to departing your cruise.
