Cozumel’s lobster season has just officially re-opened after a five-month hiatus.  Representatives from the Cozumel Fisherman’s Cooperative have set high expectations for the season with an expected harvest of 25 tons of live lobster and 12 tons of lobster tails.   These are the same numbers projected last year, which fishermen nearly hit, however, last year’s heavy rainy season affected production.  Cozumel’s lobster season, runs from July until the end of February.
