2 RCCL Cruise Liner Sister Ships Call into Cozumel

Freedom Class Sister Ships Dock Side by Side…

Two members of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL) Freedom Class called into Cozumel at the same time this past Tuesday.  The Liberty of the Seas and the Independence of the Seas docked side by side at the International Cruise Ship pier.

The Liberty of the Seas, entered service in 2007, and was originally to be named the “Endeavor of the Seas.”  The 15-deck ship accommodates 3,634 passengers served by1,360 crew.

The Independence of the Seas started service in April 2008, and accommodates more passengers.  The 15-deck  ship can accommodate 4,370 passengers and is served by 1,360 crew.

Freedom class ships were the largest in the world when they debuted, but have been dwarfed by newer ships in the last ten years.

These were not the only Royal Caribbean Ships that visited Cozumel that day.  The Brilliance of the Seas, which is a member of the Radiance Class also called into Cozumel, and docked at the downtown Punta Langosta Pier.

Radiance class ships, such as the Brillance of the Seas,  are approximately half the size of the larger Freedom class ships.

El martes pasado, dos miembros de la línea naviera Royal Caribbean (RCCL) clase Freedom llegaron a Cozumel al

mismo tiempo. Los buques Liberty of the Seas e Independence of the Seas atracaron uno junto al otro en el muelle internacional.

El buque Liberty of the Seas comenzó a prestar sus servicios en 2007 y su nombre original era Endeavor of the Seas.  El buque de 15 cubiertas aloja a 3,634 pasajeros, quienes son atendidos por 1,360 tripulantes.

El buque Independence of the Seas inició sus servicios en Abril 2008 y brinda alojamiento a más pasajeros.  El buque de 15 cubiertas aloja a 4,370 pasajeros y 1,360 tripulantes les atienden.

En su momento Los buques clase Freedom fueron los más grandes, pero durante los últimos diez años han sido eclipsados por buques más nuevos.

Ese día no fueron los únicos buques de la naviera Royal Caribbean que visitaron la Isla. El Brilliance of the Seas, miembro de la clase Radiance, también llegó a puerto atracando en el muelle Punta Langosta.

El tamaño de los buques clase Radiance, tal como el Brilliance of the Seas, es casi la mitad de los buques clase Freedom.

Se dedicó a perder el tiempo en Jamaica y finalmente se detuvo en Cozumel para pasar unas vacaciones de 2 semanas que aún no terminan. Convenciendo a sus padres que pagaran una elegante universidad privada, obtuvo su título en Periodismo y Laura crea semanalmente Cozumel 4You, medios sociales y artículos promocionales sobre la Isla y también es moderadora en el grupo Cozumel 4 You en Facebook que actualmente cuenta con 25,000 miembros. Fabián, s umuy tolerante marido, desde hace mucho tiempo se resignó a no tener vida privada, pues se ha visto implicado en los diversos proyectos y planes que urde Laura. Son orgullosos padres de diversos perros y gatos rescatados. Mientras contempla su paso a través de la vida en el Caribe mexicano,Laura continúa siendo la pesadilla en la existencia de su muy tradicional suegra mexicana.
