Teresa Williams sits down for a quick interview with the musician Israel. He’s considered to be – by many people – to have the best voice for salsa music in the Yucatan Peninsula. Although he’s from Merida he plays for 2 different bands here in Cozumel.

My name is Israel. My history with art and the world of music began when I was 7 singing and dancing. I love all music styles and currently perform Latin music, salsa, cumbia, merengue bachata. The most important thing in my life is my daughter Miranda and music. I have performed for several groups and nightclubs in many places throughout the Mexican Republic. I currently live in Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. In Cozumel I have performed for two bands: Mereketengue and Aquino y su Banda Aguanile. On Wednesdays I perform at Wet Wendys; Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at Casa del Habano; and, Sundays at Sky Reef.

Teresa Williams realiza una rápida entrevista a el músico Israel. Muchas personas consideran que cuenta con la mejor voz en la península de Yucatán para interpretar salsa. No obstante que es originario de Mérida, toca con 2 bandas diferentes en Cozumel.
Mi nombre es Israel. Mi historia en el arte y en el mundo de la música inicia a los 7 años con el canto y el baile. Me encantan todos los géneros musicales y actualmente soy cantante de genero latino, salsa, cumbia, merengue bachata. Lo más importante para mi, en la vida, es mi hija Miranda y mi música. He cantado para varias agrupaciones y centros nocturnos en todos los estados de la república mexicana. Actualmente radico en Cancún,

Playa del Carmen y Cozumel. En Cozumel he cantado para dos orquestas: Mereketengue y para Aquino y su Banda Aguanile; los días miércoles en Wet Wendys; los días jueves, viernes y sábado en Casa del Habano; y, los días domingo en Sky Reef.

Originally from Texas, she has spent nearly 10 years in Cozumel. Teresa is an active volunteer for the Humane Society of Cozumel island andis the owner of Salon Cielo, a full service salon offering an array of services for both hair and nails.
