Three friends and I were in Cozumel a few weeks ago on holiday and were looking to volunteer some time one of the days we were there. A quick facebook search brought us to Cozumel 4 You where we posted asking for suggestions on where to volunteer.

We received multiple responses, and several of these were to go spend the day at the Humane Society - all of us being dog lovers, we loved the idea! After stopping at Sam's Club for some pet and office supplies, we spent the afternoon at the society. It was awesome meeting some of the staff and playing with the animals, and we were all so impressed with how clean and well run the society is; our donations and time were very well received! If you're looking for an awesome way to spend an afternoon, and have some time and resources to donate, we highly recommend going to Cozumel Humane Society!

To top it off, the lady that runs the Humane Society connected us with another animal shelter in Tulum who had two dogs requiring transport to our city in Canada, as they had been internationally adopted. After finding out how simple it was, we were able to accompany these dogs into Canada and deliver them to their new lives with new, loving families!
