Cozumel’s “Occidental Allegro” Hotel Damaged by Fire
Early Sunday morning a fire swept through the Occidental Allegro Cozumel Hotel. Island firefighters as well as Naval officials were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3 am. While no one was harmed in the fire, reports are circulating that damage, especially to the lobby, was extensive. All hotel guests were moved to the sister property, the Occidental Grand Cozumel. The cause of the fire is believed to be an electrical short circuit.
The Occidental Allegro Cozumel
was scheduled to close in September for renovations and remodeling, however, repairs to the resort may take longer than originally anticipated. If you have reservations at the hotel, please contact the reservations department at ycruz@mx.occidentalhotels.com or call (52) 9878729730 ext 6220.
