Public response to the Municipal Ecology Department’s annual Christmas tree recycling program has been positive.  Pine trees, which are most commonly used to celebrate Christmas, take years to decompose and should not be tossed into vacant lots or placed outside with household garbage.  So far this year, over 100 trees have been dropped off at the offices of Ecology, located at the Cenote Park, on Avenida 65 between Calle 31 y 33.   It’s not too late to add your tree to their recycle collection.
