The Cozumel Taxi Drivers Union, ‘Adolfo López Mateos” will be finally receiving a 20% increase in their fare structure officially starting on December 17th.  The Union has been petitioning transport authorities for such an increase since April of 2011.  A 18 peso taxi cab ride will now cost consumers 22 pesos, while a 150 peso fare will now be 180 pesos.  This is the first time fares have increased since 2008.
