New transportation route connects the Cacún Airport with the Hotel Zone.

With the goal of improving mobility and offering a regulated and efficient transportation alternative, a new route connecting Cancún International Airport with the Hotel Zone has been implemented. This service, announced by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa, is the result of a collaboration between Grupo ASUR and ADO and is aimed at both tourists and local residents.

The route offers a direct connection between the airport terminals and strategic points in the Hotel Zone, including Plaza Fiesta, at a cost of $140 pesos per trip. Departure times from the airport are 11:05 a.m., 1:05 p.m., 3:05 p.m., 5:05 p.m., and 7:05 p.m.

During the announcement, Governor Lezama highlighted the importance of this initiative to facilitate the transportation of thousands of people who travel to and from the airport daily. “This service represents a safe, reliable, and accessible option to improve connectivity in the region,” she stated. With this new transportation option, it is hoped to reduce travel times and provide a comfortable and efficient alternative for users of the Cancún International Airport.

Water Supply Situation in Cozumel.

Deficiencies in the drinking water supply persist due to problems with the wells of the Potable Water and Sewerage Commission (CAPA), as well as the theft of electrical cables that have affected operations. In response to this situation, an emergency plan has been implemented to guarantee the water supply in all neighborhoods on the island.

CAPA Manager Manuel Gurigutia Barrientos explained that, following the power outage last weekend and the cable thefts, an emergency protocol was activated that includes the transportation and distribution of water by truck. Currently, four Civil Protection teams are working to provide an orderly supply to users who have reported a lack of water.

To access drinking water service, a formal request must be made at the CAPA offices. Operators have been instructed not to distribute water without prior registration, in order to maintain control and avoid disruptions in delivery. Residents who require service are asked to visit the offices to be added to the distribution list.

CAPA reiterates that drinking water service will be free until normal supply is restored to homes. However, it could take 3 to 4 days to restore pressure to the pumping system, due to the system being out of service for more than 12 hours.

The community is asked for patience and cooperation in following the established process. For more information or to report a water shortage, residents can go directly to the CAPA offices, where they will be assisted.

El Rodeo de Lanchas Mexicanas, uno de los torneos de pesca deportiva más destacados de la región, regresa a la isla de Cozumel con su 54ª edición, que se llevará a cabo los días 16 y 17 de mayo de 2025. Este evento, reconocido como la competencia de pesca más importante de la zona y la segunda a nivel estatal, atraerá a participantes de México y del extranjero, combinando deporte, cultura y atractivos naturales.

El torneo no solo es una competencia, sino también una iniciativa que promueve la biodiversidad marina y prácticas de pesca sostenible. Los participantes capturarán y liberarán especies como el marlín azul, fomentando la conservación del medio ambiente y la pesca responsable. Este enfoque convierte al evento en una oportunidad única para los aficionados a la pesca, al integrar el deporte con la protección de los ecosistemas marinos.

El regreso del Rodeo de Lanchas Mexicanas se prevé que tenga un impacto económico significativo en Cozumel. Nueva Ruta de Transporte conecta el Aerpuerto de Cacun con Zona hotelera.

Con el objetivo de mejorar la movilidad y ofrecer una alternativa de transporte regulado y eficiente, se ha implementado una nueva ruta que conecta el Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún con la Zona Hotelera. Este servicio, anunciado por la gobernadora Mara Lezama Espinosa, es resultado de la colaboración entre Grupo ASUR y ADO, y está dirigido tanto a turistas como a residentes locales.

La ruta ofrece conexión directa entre las terminales del aeropuerto y puntos estratégicos de la Zona Hotelera, incluyendo Plaza Fiesta, con un costo de $140 pesos por viaje. Los horarios de salida desde el aeropuerto son a las 11:05, 13:05, 15:05, 17:05 y 19:05 horas.

Durante el anuncio, la gobernadora Lezama resaltó la importancia de esta iniciativa para facilitar el traslado de miles de personas que diariamente se desplazan desde y hacia el aeropuerto. “Este servicio representa una opción segura, confiable y accesible para mejorar la conectividad en la región”, afirmó.

Con esta nueva opción de transporte, se espera reducir los tiempos de traslado y brindar una alternativa cómoda y eficiente para los usuarios del Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún.

Situación del Suministro de Agua en Cozumel.

Persisten las deficiencias en el suministro de agua potable debido a problemas en los pozos de la Comisión de Agua Potable y Alcantarillado (CAPA), así como a los robos de cable eléctrico que han afectado la operación. Ante esta situación, se ha implementado un plan emergente para garantizar el abastecimiento de agua en todas las colonias de la isla.

El gerente de la CAPA, Manuel Gurigutia Barrientos, explicó que, tras la interrupción del servicio eléctrico el pasado fin de semana y los robos de cable, se activó un protocolo de emergencia que incluye el transporte y distribución de agua mediante pipas. Actualmente, cuatro cuadrillas de Protección Civil están trabajando para abastecer de manera ordenada a los usuarios que han reportado la falta de agua.

Para acceder al servicio de agua potable, es necesario realizar una solicitud formal en las oficinas de la CAPA. Los operadores tienen instrucciones de no distribuir agua sin previo registro, con el fin de mantener un control y evitar desorden en la entrega. Se pide a los residentes que requieran el servicio acudan a las oficinas para ser incluidos en la lista de distribución.

La CAPA reitera que el servicio de agua potable será gratuito hasta que se restablezca el suministro normal en los hogares. Sin embargo, la recuperación de la presión en el sistema de bombeo podría tardar entre 3 y 4 días, debido a las más de 12 horas que el sistema estuvo sin operar.

Se solicita a la comunidad paciencia y colaboración para seguir el proceso establecido. Para más información o para reportar la falta de agua, los residentes pueden acudir directamente a las oficinas de la CAPA, donde serán atendidos.
