Rotary International donates water purification system to Cozumel Humane Society to benefit area neighborhood.
The Rotary Club of Cozumel, working together with several Texas Rotary Clubs from District 5810 recently donated a Sunspring Hybrid Alternative Energy - Decentralized Microbiological Water Treatment System to be put in place at the Humane Society of Cozumel Island. This system will not only benefit The Cozumel Humane Society, it will also allow area families in our remote neighborhood to purchase bottled water nearby at a greatly reduced price. This state of the art system physically removes particulate, turbidity, bacteria, virus and cysts from virtually any water source including rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, shallow wells (GWUDI), rain water, unsafe municipal supplies and springs.
We will be holding a benefit at Kinta this Friday, June 29th to raise funds for the installation of the water system. It is a 3 course tasting menu creatively designed by Kintas own Daniel Mxn. Tickets are on sale at Rock’n Java, Kinta, Kondessa and Lobster Shack. $25 USD. All of us in Cozumel are deeply grateful to Alex Franco and Ernesto Alvarez of our local Cozumel Rotary Club along with Bill Dendy, ex Governor of District 5810 for bringing this project to fruition....Read more |
