Xcaret Mexican Popular Art Fair: A Celebration of Culture and Crafts

Ms. Leticia Aguerrebere, Corporate Director of Art, Culture, Production and Festivals of Grupo Xcaret and President of the Cultural Heritage Committee, enthusiastically announced the celebration of the first edition of the Xcaret Fair of Mexican Popular Art. This event, which will take place from September 19 to 22 at the Hacienda Henequenera in Xcaret Park, will bring together more than 280 artisans from all over the country to exhibit and sell their creations, as well as participate in workshops, conferences and demonstrations.
The main objective of the Xcaret Mexican Popular Art Fair is to promote and preserve the traditional craft techniques of Mexico, which represent an invaluable cultural heritage. Ms. Aguerrebere highlighted that the fair seeks to “consolidate a space where Mexico’s master artisans exhibit and sell their creations, also providing them with a capacity-building program.”
More than 280 artisans from 26 states of the Mexican Republic will participate in the fair, divided into four categories: ceramics, wood, textiles and “miscellaneous” (which includes jewelry, leather, metalwork, glass, vegetable fibers, gourds, Huichol art, hammocks , among others). Among the participating teachers are figures recognized nationally and internationally, such as Juana Gómez de Amatenango del Valle (ceramics), Jacobo Ángeles Ojeda (wood carving), Martina García Cruz (backstrap loom textile), Kena Bautista (Huichol art ) and Emilio Sánchez (textiles and shawls).
The fair will offer a diverse program that includes demonstrations of artisanal techniques, conferences on popular art and cultural heritage, traditional clothing catwalks, and a contest with a prize pool of almost one million pesos. In addition, there will be a space to strengthen the capacities of artisans, with workshops on topics such as alliances with universities, social business models, digital marketing and the “3Es” (efficiency, effectiveness and equity).
The Xcaret Mexican Popular Art Fair is an event for the whole family. Visitors will be able to enjoy craft exhibitions and sales, participate in workshops and demonstrations, attend conferences and catwalks, and savor delicious Mexican cuisine. Additionally, access to Xcaret Park is included in the fair ticket, allowing visitors to enjoy all of the park’s attractions.
Ms. Aguerrebere invited the public to participate in the Xcaret Mexican Popular Art Fair as an opportunity to “reconnect with our roots, value the cultural richness of our country and support the work of master artisans.” The fair is a celebration of Mexican identity and a platform to promote the preservation and dissemination of popular art.

La Sra. Leticia Aguerrebere, Directora Corporativa de Arte, Cultura, Producción y Festivales de Grupo Xcaret y Presidenta del Comité de Patrimonio Cultural, anunció con entusiasmo la celebración de la primera edición de la Feria Xcaret de Arte Popular Mexicano. Este evento, que tendrá lugar del 19 al 22 de septiembre en la Hacienda Henequenera del Parque Xcaret, reunirá a más de 280 artesanos de todo el país para exhibir y vender sus creaciones, así como para participar en talleres, conferencias y demostraciones.
La Feria Xcaret de Arte Popular Mexicano tiene como objetivo principal fomentar y preservar las técnicas artesanales tradicionales de México, las cuales representan un patrimonio cultural invaluable. La Sra. Aguerrebere destacó que la feria busca “consolidar un espacio donde los maestros artesanos de México exhiban y vendan sus creaciones, brindándoles además un programa de fortalecimiento de capacidades”.
Más de 280 artesanos de 26 estados de la República Mexicana participarán en la feria, divididos en cuatro categorías: cerámica, madera, textil y “varios” (que incluye joyería, piel, metalistería, vidrio, fibras vegetales, guajes, arte huichol, hamacas, entre otros). Entre los maestros participantes se encuentran figuras reconocidas a nivel nacional e internacional, como Juana Gómez de Amatenango del Valle (cerámica), Jacobo Ángeles Ojeda (talla en madera), Martina García Cruz (textil de telar de cintura), Kena Bautista (arte huichol) y Emilio Sánchez (textiles y rebozos).
La feria ofrecerá un programa diverso que incluye demostraciones de técnicas artesanales, conferencias sobre el arte popular y el patrimonio cultural, pasarelas de indumentaria tradicional y un concurso con una bolsa de premios de casi un millón de pesos. Además, se contará con un espacio para el fortalecimiento de capacidades de los artesanos, con talleres sobre temas como alianzas con universidades, modelos de negocio social, mercadotecnia digital y las “3E” (eficiencia, eficacia y equidad).
La Feria Xcaret de Arte Popular Mexicano es un evento para toda la familia. Los visitantes podrán disfrutar de las exhibiciones y ventas de artesanías, participar en los talleres y demostraciones, asistir a las conferencias y pasarelas, y saborear la deliciosa gastronomía mexicana. Además, el acceso al parque Xcaret está incluido en la entrada a la feria, lo que permite a los visitantes disfrutar de todas las atracciones del parque.
La Sra. Aguerrebere invitó al público a participar en la Feria Xcaret de Arte Popular Mexicano como una oportunidad para “reconectar con nuestras raíces, valorar la riqueza cultural de nuestro país y apoyar el trabajo de los maestros artesanos”.
